DIY: Make Your Own Amazing Burning Man Hat
Burning Man is such a fun way to express your style and creativity. I was hunting Pinterest for fun costume ideas when I came across all these beautiful sequined, rhinestoned, shiny, amazing hats. I found some to purchase on Etsy, but they can be a little pricy. With a little time and craftiness, you can create your own, and then it’s unique to your style and a fun DIY project.
In this post I’ll give you a rundown of the supplies you’ll need (subject to your own personal taste), and the steps and shopping links to create your own personalized sparkly gem.
What to Bring to Burning Man
At Burning Man, you can let your creativity fly! But keep in mind that a lot of the fashion that fuels Burning Man is also quite functional for the weather conditions and circumstances. Below I've created a list of things you'll need and why you'll need them. Starting with fashion and then moving on to supplies.
Keep It Rad.
I've found a new brand fave, Indy Brand Clothing. I'm loving this vintage western inspired "Keep it rad" tee that goes perfectly with my new Bailey Berger Straw hat.
Festival Style
Coachella is around the corner, time to start planning for the bohemian festival style of the desert with clothes from two of my favorites, Planet Blue and Free People.
Spirit Hoods Cozy Blankets
This gorgeous fur lined printed blanket being featured is made by Spirit Hoods, who is known for their quality faux fur animals hoods that are perfect festival wear. They also donate 10% of their net profits to the conservation of endangered species.
My Style: Junk Food Clothing
It may be in the 90s here in Los Angeles, but we're taking it back to the 70s in these ringer tees by Junk Food Clothing.
Desert Trip: Shop Vintage Rock Tee Designs
Desert trip, nicknamed "Oldchella," is coming up soon! I've searched the web for these cool throw back tees with bands playing the epic festival this October in Indio, CA like this The Who 70s throwback tee from Junk Food Clothing. Represent your favorite legends!
My Festival Style: Spirit Hoods
For Burning Man fashion, anything goes. You can wear whatever your heart pleases, or nothing at all. Festival favorites are steam punk, faux fur, metallics, and colorful body suits. Since the weather drops down into the 40s at night this Red Fox Spirit Hood was a stylish, fun, and warm accessory.
4 days at Burning Man 2016: da Vinci's Workshop
If I could describe Burning Man in one word it'd be "surreal." In fact, the whole festival feels a bit like stepping into a Dali painting. I admit, I was skeptical even through my first day and half of being there. Now I'm convinced it's one of those experiences that you'll covet forever.
My Style: Handcrafted Leather
I've been crushing on Will Leather Goods ever since I moved back to L.A. two years ago and discovered them on Abbot Kinney. I love well made leather products, especially when the vibe matches my SoCal meets Southwest sense of style.
